Handcrafted Organic Tempeh in Auckland **Frozen Tempeh**

Must be kept frozen at all times. Shelf life 12 months.

To defrost, put in the fridge overnight. Once thawed, keep refrigerated at 4°C max.

Then use within 7 days. Tempeh must be cooked, not to be eaten raw. BLACK SPOT ON TEMPEH
Occasionally it happens. These spots are completely normal, a Rhizopus spores mold growth that is edible and safe to eat. It is a sign that the Tempeh is fully mature and does not indicate spoilage at all. They do not affect the flavour of the Tempeh. Here is a quick guide to differentiate between good and bad mold on Tempeh:
*Good Mold: Black, Fuzzy, hairy or grey spores, firm texture, nutty mushroomy smell.
*Bad Mold: Slimy texture, and smelly such as a strong ammonia-like odour.
If you are unsure, discard the Tempeh.
